Original Story
I was 19, out for a run. You approached me to ask for a band aid. I’m nice, I stopped to say no and tell you how to get to the closest restroom. I started to run away and you held a knife to my throat and pulled me into a wooded area. I had recently read in 17 magazine that if you’re ever attacked to make yourself as human as possible. ‘My friend Lisa is waiting for me’ I said. You told me to shut up and then told me to undress. You raped me. You were my ‘first’ - I had been waiting for the right person - you took that from me. You ran off and were never found… until April of this year. You came back into my life after 20+ years and ripped it apart again. But this time, I get to tell my story to a jury of your peers. I now get my turn to exert power over you. I get to watch you be sentenced and be sent to prison; hopefully for the rest of your life, because I wasn’t your only victim, you have many.
