Healing is possible with time and the right support. Over the last couple of years I've been approaching healing as a community journey and it's made a huge impact. By tagging in my family, friends, and therapy team I'm not left putting the pieces together alone, I have people right there beside me pushing their sleeves up to do the work.
Healing for me means learning ways to manage the pain that's been left by repeated trauma. It's about learning how to co-exist with open wounds, and being successful in my goals. Healing is a pathway to freedom but the steps are long and arduous. My goal is to someday have a full day without falling into the trap of dissociating from my body. I want the freedom and liberation of fully living in my body without filters or numbness.
